New Nanostructured Materials
Synthesis of mesoporous metal chalcogenide based thin films
We also have a variety of other projects aimed at developing new ways to create nanostructure materials and at the broad application of those materials. For example, in a project headed by an undergraduate student in my group, we have developed new ways to create nanocrystal based nanoporous materials with precisely controlled nanocrystal size. We have also initiated a major effort in the fabrication and application of nanoporous metals using selective dealloying. This effort includes a new foray for the Tolbert group into electrocatalysis and water splitting with the development of a high efficiency catalysts for the electrochemical oxygen evolution reaction.
